Settling In

I have been in Charlotte for exactly one week and am beginning to feel settled.  I stayed in Idaho for a month after Richie had left for training camp and spent each day missing Charlotte terribly.  Mostly because I missed my husband, but  I also couldn't wait to get back to the hustle and bustle of the city and the friends we have made here. Then I arrived!  The second I walked through the airport doors the humidity hit me.  That night I laid in bed wide awake listening to the sounds of the city. It was loud!!! I couldn't believe it! I had spent the last 8 weeks missing those sounds and now they seemed to be screeching at me.

It took a few days but Lilly and I are settling back into our old routine.  Each morning we get up and head out the door for a walk in the city.  I love the crispness of the morning air, watching everyone dressed up in their business attire walking to work, and visiting with the other people out walking their dogs.  I have spent a few afternoons visiting with the wonderful girlfriends that I have made here and my evenings cooking dinner with Richie and sharing the details of our days.  The sounds of sirens, vehicles, street sweepers, and trains are once again the lullaby putting me to sleep at night.  I am feeling very blessed and happy to be here.

My Other Half

A quick introduction...

As far back as I can remember it was my dream to marry a man who could love me the way that my dad loves my mom.  It is a love that grows stronger each year and is evident by hand-holding, cuddling, and the utmost respect for one-another.

In 2012 my prayers were answered!  I was blessed enough to marry my college sweetheart and absolute love of my life.  The best part is...he loves me to the moon and back!  Somedays I have to pinch myself; I'm so lucky!

Isn't he just the cutest!

Richie and I met in Economics class in college and have spent the last few years on an adventure owed to the NFL.  With the stress and uncertainty that comes with his career also comes meeting amazing friends, new experiences, and the opportunity to explore new cities. He plays Tightend and Fullback for the Carolina Panthers.  I could not be more proud of the hard work he puts into everything he does in life.  He inspires me every day!

Wishing you a beautiful day!

Fall Camp

Well..it's that time of year again.  Fall Camp!  The time of year that brings, stress, worry, excitement, distance, and anticipation.  Richie is one week into fall camp and Lilly (our dog) and I are one week closer to going home to Charlotte.  We decided it would be best if I stay in Idaho while he is away at camp in South Carolina.  While I am glad to be spending more time with my parents before the craziness of football season begins, I am missing Richie immensely.  To keep myself busy my mom and I have been thrifting with the best of them!  Check out the adorable chair she scored for the living room.

While my "score" was much smaller and possibly less exciting to most.  I am loving Domestic Bliss, which I picked up for only $2.  It has great tips on party planning, making a house a bit more homey, and creating a welcoming environment for guests.
